Our thoughts and prayers are with Sir Roger Scruton

Our thoughts and prayers are with Professor Sir Roger Scruton, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

In his regular newsletter to his followers, Sir Roger revealed this news, adding he is ‘now undergoing a course of treatment and [is] determined to secure the reprieve that is possible’.

As we have attested in Bournbrook on a number of occasions, Sir Roger has contributed immensely through his lifetime to the conservative cause, and has greatly increased the understanding and appreciation of the Western tradition for so many. Having written fifty books over the course of his forty-year career, educating students behind the Iron Curtain, and giving speeches across several continents, Sir Roger is a titan, and we are very grateful for him to this.

In July, we were honoured to have printed (with permission) a statement from Sir Roger on the recent ‘Scruton Tapes’ affair. Sir Roger was incredibly kind to allow a publication as small as ours to do this; a testament to his generosity.

We hope – as will so many others around the world – that Sir Roger gets better soon.
