I Dreamed of Meadows

I dreamed of meadows,

Until I woke.

And when I woke;

I spoke of desire,

To see that meadow engulfed by fire.

And so I went, with hate in my heart,

Of beauty and nature and music and art.

I sparked a match with wicked intent;

And then, and then, I saw where men

Have seen and been before.

I fell to my knees,

‘Oh mercy, please’,

Spare me the thoughts that ensnare me.

Nourish my soul,

With things that are old,

And may the meadow live on.
