P*** off the unvaccinated? Plus ca change!
Just the other day, the lilliputian president of the French Republic – although he prefers to compare himself to Jupiter – said it was his goal to ‘p*** off’ the unvaccinated.
I do not speak Francais so I cannot comment on the quality of the translation being bandied about, but I am sure the gist is right. According to Mr Macron, he does not regard unjabbed Frenchies as full citizens, saying that a ‘irresponsible person’ (aka those who have not yet submitted to government coercion) ‘is not a citizen’.
What were those watchwords of the revolution? Weren’t egalité and liberté among them?
His hope is to make vaccination compulsory through necessitating a vaccine passport in order to do anything other than eating, breathing or defecating. In this he differs little from many a European state who have happily latched on to health authoritarianism with an astonishing degree of historical ignorance.
As such, I do not think we should be particularly offended by Mr Macron’s remarks. In speaking a bit too honestly, he has merely confirmed what we all knew the policy was all along. Whether it’s to p*** off, coerce, or strong-arm, the end goal is ultimately the same.
The comments have raised the ire of opposition politicians, for whom apparently an honest word spoken is of more concern than two years of suffocating liberté. It seems as long as you do not call this spade a spade, you can carry on as you please.
P***ing off the unvaccinated is the tactic of choice across the Western world. In Germany, the unjabbed are second-class citizens: my relative there has had her freedom drastically curtailed as a result of her decision to resist the pressure of the German state. Endless talks of mandates threaten similar in the United States.
Curiously, one of the places to resist mandatory vaccination is China. Still today in that supposedly most authoritarian of societies, consent is required. My unvaccinated Chinese teacher living in central China goes about her life as normal. David Starkey said that we started with a Chinese virus and will end up with a Chinese society. As it turns out, we might even be out China-ing the Chi-coms.
Let’s hope for more honesty from the likes of Mr Macron. The more frustrated they grow with the disobedience of their pesky citizens, the less guarded their language will become. And as that happens, the scales will begin to fall from the eyes of more and more of us.
At least, I hope so: according to the opinion polls, if you dare trust them, a majority of people are in favour of Macron’s policies. Now there’s a new year’s blackpill for you.
