These Early Hours

It is in these early hours,

Between the dusk and dawn;

Where I find empty towers,

And in their shells I mourn.

A thing I never had,

A place I never went,

Memories never lived,

Money never spent.

It’s in these early hours,

When I am all alone;

And wandering with weary feet,

Until I stumble home.
