We should be unlocking – so why is the Government gearing up for more restrictions?

This madness will not end until we make it end.

We were supposed to be ‘free’ on June 21st, but we are just as shackled to the whim of the state now as we were a few months ago.

Indeed, just as we should be unlocking and returning to some form of normality, the Government is instead talking about introducing more restrictions for a greater amount of time.

Just in the last week, Westminster City Council has advertised a contract for the building of ‘temporary body storage’ facilities in case of an ‘excess deaths situation’; schools have been told by the Department for Education to prepare for the reintroduction of face masks in classrooms and of remote learning to manage ‘local outbreaks of Covid’, and; Justice Secretary Robert Buckland has refused to rule out winter lockdowns, saying ‘you can’t ever say mission accomplished’ with Covid.

The truth of the matter is that this madness will continue until we stop it from taking place. We must stop wearing masks; stop distancing; stop telling our friends to hold off on meeting up ‘until restrictions ease’, because they won’t unless we decide to take control of our own lives (radical, I know) and stop letting the Government tell us who we can cuddle and where we can meet.

Until then, the ‘Terrocracy’, as we title it in our latest print issue, will, in one form or another, continue to reign supreme over all of our lives.
