“Western culture is downstream from capitalism” – a letter

Bournbrook reader Adam Clarke has written in to ask: “How many conservatives are capable of understanding causality?” He writes:

Every conservative has absolute loyalty towards capitalism.

It is because of capitalism that Western countries allow TikTok to be used.

TikTok influences young people into being as stupid and delusional as possible.

Every conservative complains about how they think young people are stupid and delusional.

Why do conservatives not accept that the capitalism they support ends up leading to the behaviour which they are against?

Western culture is downstream from capitalism. There is no way to improve Western culture without first completely re-evaluating capitalism.
