Write to your MP in opposition to the new lockdown
We at Bournbrook have been encouraged by the large response we have received in relation to our lockdown scepticism. Alas, we know this will have little-to-no impact on the political situation we find ourselves in, other than to make a few more supporters of the Government question the basis and substance of the ‘new normal’. The failure of the ‘Opposition’ to oppose, and of the media establishment to question (until, that is, it was too late) meant that tonight’s announcement of a new national lockdown was inevitable.
There remains (for now, at least) one useful tool in our armoury… In four years time (possibly less), those who currently sit in the House of Commons will rely on our consent to remain in their positions.
In which case, if you fear the damage another full lockdown will have on our country, you have a duty to email your local MP, and to tell them that if they vote in favour of this policy, you will not vote for them at the next election.
And why should you, if they vote to destroy jobs; to isolate those who need to socialise; to make it even harder for families to make ends meet; to continue the crisis in cancer treatment, and that of other significant health issues; to ruin the delicate constitutional and political principles our liberty rests on; to separate grieving relatives at funerals, and on their death beds…
None of this is proportionate to the scale of the problem. Neither is it sane, or, indeed, conservative.
Let your MP know that this is the case.

Carry out this small (but important) gesture, before it is too late.
