The New York Times has declared the vital swing states of Wisconsin and Michigan for Biden. This puts him on 253 electoral votes, only 17 away from the magic number of 270.
Victory now appears imminent for the Biden camp. Clinching both Arizona and Nevada, which he is likely to accomplish, or Pennsylvania, will put him in the White House.

The New York Times have strengthened Trump's likelihood of winning North Carolina to ninety per cent. It is appearing to be a better night for the President than many had envisioned.

The New York Times is projecting that Trump will take West Virginia and its five electoral votes.

Fox News have called the state of Virginia, and its thirteen electoral votes, for Biden. A once competitive swing-state appears to now be firmly in Democratic hands.

Many stores in the US have boarded up their entrances and windows in anticipation of riots in the event of an unexpected Trump victory.

CNN exit poll reports that the economy is the most important issue according to voters at thirty-one per cent. Racial inequality is the second biggest issue, at twenty-one per cent, with the Coronavirus sitting in third place at eighteen per cent even in the middle of the pandemic.
The exit poll is based primarily on votes on the day, so will likely be skewed towards Republican voters. It will be updated as the night goes on.
