Somewhere In Between

Your kiss is a blow upon a bruise,

As all before me stops and shakes.

My ruse, my muse, oh sudden truth,

As rain drops wrestle me awake.

How fickle love is trickled down,

And pickled mummies sit around.

Waiting for a cause to stir,

Just as I was the day before.

Oh, how my mother cried,

The day I said goodbye.

And left to go and chase a dream,

And wound up sleeping by the stream.

Somewhere between a dream and ‘mare,

Somewhere in that land o’blue.

How life can be so damn unfair,

And only death is true.
